Cialis and tadalafil may be advertised as having some great benefits, but don’t forget that all medications come with a risk of side effects. In clinical trials, the four most common side effects with tadalafil were:
Headache
Dyspepsia (burning or discomfort in the upper abdomen)
Back pain
Nasopharyngitis (nasal congestion, a symptom often caused by the common cold)
According to a review of 16 studies comparing tadalafil and sildenafil, back and muscle pain was more common with tadalafil, but flushing (redness in the face) was more common with sildenafil. Cialis can also cause painful erections lasting longer than 6 hours. If this happens to you, see your doctor immediately.
Cialis and tadalafil are both approved by the FDA to treat erectile dysfunction and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) like difficulty urinating. Cialis and tadalafil treat ED by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis to allow blood to flow freely and cause an erection. At typically higher dosage, they treat BPH by relaxing the muscle cells in the prostate, so urine can flow freely out of the bladder.
